  • City Circle Tram. FREE and a great way to explore the city centre. The historic red tram will take you on a city loop past Flinders St Station, St Pauls Cathedral, the Docklands, Etihad Stadium, State Library, Carlton Gardens & more. 
  • Free City Walking Tour. Tours depart daily at 10:30AM & 2:30PM from the Sir Redmond Barry Statue at the State Library of Victoria. No bookings needed. You just need to show up and look for a guide in a bright green T Shirt. The tour will guide you through all that Melbourne has to offer – the arts, laneways, graffiti, history, architecture, gardens & more!
  • Brighton Beach. If you are staying in St Kilda make sure you go for a walk down to Brighton Beach. If you are in the city centre you will need to catch a 10 minute tram to St Kilda (OK so it may not be free)! Brighton Beach is home to Melbourne’s Mansions. Follow the walking trail along the beach and soon you will reach the famous & colourful Brighton Beach Bathing Boxes. From here you will see a car park which provides a great vantage point for amazing photos of the city centre
  • Queen Victoria Markets. Cheap food, quirky souvenirs, clothing, jewellery and did we mention food? Food from all over the world! Many stalls will offer free tasting platters
  • Markets. St Kilda Market for arts & crafts, South Melbourne Market for cheap food, clothing & souvenirs & Prahran Market for free international food tastings and quirky arts, clothing & crafts
  • Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI). Located in Federation Square, ACMI is home to all things film and television with different exhibitions (Tim Burton & Dreamworks are 2 of many) each week. In Federation Square you will also find the Ian Potter Gallery of Australian Art
  • Royal Botanic Gardens are located in the heart of Melbourne City. The gardens are stunning with beautiful views of the city. If you are there in summer – check out the Moonlight Cinema
  • Eat for Free at Lentil as Anything. You could – but you’d feel guilty! These restaurants are run by homeless people and volunteers – the meals are amazing and rely on a donation bases. You will find them in St Kilda or Footscray
  • Free Wi-Fi hot spots: Federation Square, Flinders St Station, City Library, State Library of Victoria, Queen Victoria Building, Melbourne Airport, Melbourne Museum & Melbourne Visitor Centre



  • Free City Walking Tour. Departs daily at 10:30AM & 2:30PM from Sydney Town Hall. No need to book, just show up and look for your guide in a bright green T – Shirt. You will get to see the Sydney Opera House, Darling Harbour, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Circular Quay, Sydney Tower, The Rocks, St Marys Cathedral, Pitt St Mall & more
  • Free 555 Bus Feeling Lazy? There is a free 555 shuttle bus that will take you throughout the city centre from Central Station, Circular Quay, George St & Elizabeth St
  • Fireworks Display Head down to Darling Harbour on a Saturday night and catch the free fireworks display
  • Darling Harbour Located just a 2 minute walk from Base, Darling Harbour always has loads going on with Cafes, Restaurants, IMAX Theatre & a shopping mall. The harbour side is a great place to sit, snap up some photos and take it all in. If you take a walk by the Aquarium you will arrive at the Wildlife Centre – here you can see Koalas!
  • Markets Every weekend you can find funky little markets in the city’s suburbs: Glebe Market, The Rocks Market & Paddington Market are our favourites
  • Bondi Beach to Coogee Walk Follow the coastal walk from Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach – great photos and absolutely stunning!
  • Art Gallery of NSW Free exhibitions and art displays. If you visit on a Wednesday evening they will also show case free films
  • Royal Botanic Gardens With views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Rose Gardens and endless parks and trees – this is a great place to chill for the afternoon on a sunny day
  • Museum of Contemporary Arts (MCA) has free entry and is located at The Rocks. Here you will find all types of contemporary art exhibitions: sculpture, digital, painting & more
  • Free Wi – Fi Hot Spots: Circular Quay, Public Libraries & McDonalds Restaurants


  • Red City Hopper Ferry Best way to get a glimpse of Brisbane city – and snap up some amazing photo opportunities! The red City Hopper ferry is free and will guide you around the city, from Southbank to the Storey Bridge. You can hop on and hop off as you please
  • Southbank Lagoon Southbank is home its very own man made beach. Yep, that right! A sandy beach lagoon right in the heart of Brisbane city!
  • The Seed Project Every Friday the outdoor amphitheatre at Melbourne St Green will host upcoming indi bands. You can pull up a deck chair under the stars, grab a beer from the pop up bar and listen to some music
  • Fortitude Valley Great for a night out! Fortitude Valley gives Brisbane its creative and alternative edge. Check out the Markets, Boutique Shops, Bars, Live Music & Chinatown
  • Museum of Modern Art Free Entry. Part of the Queensland Art Gallery. Head down to Southbank and check out the many art exhibitions including film, cinema, sculptures, digital media & more
  • Eat Street Markets Eat Street Markets in Eagle Farm is our favourite. The stalls are set up in shipping containers and you will find anything and everything here! Open Friday evening, Saturday & Sunday all year round
  • West End Where the cool kids hang! West End is Brisbane’s cultural hub with a bustling art scene, international food stores, second hand and vintage shops, quirky bars & weekend markets
  • Queensland Museum Did you know Queensland once housed its own Dinosaur? You will find all sorts of at the Queensland Museum including Aboriginal history and culture
  • Mt Cootha Botanical Gardens The gardens are just a 15 minute bus journey from Brisbane CBD and home to acres of sub tropical gardens. Chill out for the day, have a BBQ and make sure that you take the walk to the top of Mt Cootha for stunning views of Brisbane
  • Free Films at the State Library On most Sundays you will be able to catch a free film showing at the State Library
  • Southbank Market International Food, Fashion, Art & Entertainment
  • Free Wi – Fi Spots: Gallery of Modern Art, State Library
